Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 32-year old man, Afolami Olanrewaju, for allegedly defiling a 9-year-old girl in Ile-Oluji community in Ile-Oluji/ Oke-Igbo Local Government Area of the state. 

 

Spokesperson for zone 17 of the command, Akeem Adeoye, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, May 29, said the suspect committed the offence in February 2022 and fled the community. 

Adeoye explained that the mother of the little girl reported the incident to the Police while
the victim was taken to the hospital for immediate medical attention.

 

He said the efforts of detectives from the state led to the arrest of the suspect in Akure, the state capital in May 2022, a few months after committing the offence.

 

"On 18th May 2022, Police detectives attached to Zonal CID, Zone 17  Headquarters, Akure,  arrested one Afolami Olanrewaju aged 32 of Ile Oluji/Oke Igbo L.G.A of Ondo State for defiling a nine-year-old child, name withheld," the statement read.

The police have been accused of showing up 5 minutes after a robbery attack which lasted over an hour in Ifako/Gbagada, Lagos state.

 

@KneWKeeD who made the claim, also disclosed that the police station in the neighborhood is just 3 minutes away.

Around 2AM, armed robbers settled in and robbed for over an hour in Ifako/Gbagada. Your police showed up 5mins after the robbers were done. The Police station is less than 3mins away. Wonders!

It has been alleged that members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Sunday, May 22, 2022, killed 10 Northerners, including a pregnant woman, her four children and six others.

The pregnant woman and her children were killed at Isulo, Orumba North Local Government Area of the state.

The slain woman was identified as Harira Jibril, 32, while the four children were identified as Fatima, 9; Khadijah, 7; Hadiza, 5 and; Zaituna, 2.

The killing of the northerners was allegedly perpetrated by the pro-Biafran group a few days after the discovery of the head of an Anambra State lawmaker, Okey Okoye who was abducted and killed by the terrorists.
